Seth Tatum, DPT, ATC, CMTPT

Seth Tatum always knew he wanted to be a Physical Therapist while growing up in Montgomery, Alabama. He graduated from The University of Alabama in 2003 with a BS in Athletic Training. He went on to complete his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2007 from Alabama State University. He has 18 years of experience as a Physical Therapist and over 10 years of experience with Myofascial Trigger Point Dry Needling.

What does a typical appointment look like?

Appointments begin with a close assessment of your pain and referred pain patterns to help treat tight muscles by targeting trigger points. Seth will then treat that pain using stretching, massage, dry needling, and gentle stimulation. At the end of the appointment, Seth will provide you with and teach you exercises that you can do at home! Initial Evaluation appointments for TMJ dysfunction typically last an hour to an hour and a half. Follow up appointments typically last 45 minutes to one hour.

Seth became particularly interested in TMJ dysfunction when his wife (a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) was severely afflicted with TMJ dysfunction-related tinnitus and tonic tensor tympani syndrome, traveling as far as South America to learn new, ground-breaking treatment techniques.
